Georgia and Alabama do not like each other. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide may not be traditional rivals, but there is still a lot of hatred between these two programs.

Rooted in that hatred though is a lot of respect, because few programs have been able to accomplish the greatness both Georgia and Alabama have experienced over the past decade. This respect has caused Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer to hand out one compliment to Georgia ahead of their game on Saturday.

“(Georgia) just competes until the very end and that’s what we saw a year ago, and that’s what you’re going to expect to see every time they step on the field,” DeBoer shared via dawgnation.com.

Kalen DeBoer respects Georgia’s attitude

DeBoer shared in the above quote how much he respects Georgia’s ability to never give up. He knows how dangerous Georgia is because they never give up in a game even when they get down early.

That is exactly what happened in last year’s game when the Crimson Tide jumped out to a 28-0 lead. Sure Georgia still lost the game, but they did claw their way back and even took the lead with about two minutes to play before Alabama ultimately scored a late touchdown to win the game.

Georgia has shown that this trait still exists this season as they trailed Tennessee 21-7 earlier this season. This time however Georgia was able to come back and beat the Volunteers in overtime.

The hope for Georgia entering this game is that they don’t fall behind by a large margin, but it is nice knowing that UGA has the ability to come back even if they face a big deficit. But maybe this time around it will be Georgia that jumps on a team early which is something that feels like hasn’t happened against a quality opponent in quite some time.

Georgia and Alabama are scheduled to kick off this Saturday at 7:30 pm EST and the Bulldogs are currently favored by 3.5 points.
