Georgia football is ready for their SEC opener as they look to make it nine straight victories against Tennessee on Saturday. The Bulldogs have thankfully stayed relatively healthy this season, but there are two key injuries Georgia fans have been paying close attention to all week long.
Starting offensive linemen Juan Gaston and Earnest Greene both missed Georgia's week two game against Austin Peay because of injuries suffered during UGA's week one win over Marshall. However, both of their statuses were improving this week as Kirby Smart listed Gaston as questionable to play and Greene as probable on their injury reports this week.
But will either actually play against the Volunteers? Here is the latest injury report for both players.
Juan Gaston, Earnest Greene expected to play vs Tennessee
All week it was expected that Greene would play, but the same couldn't be said for Gaston. That however all changed on Friday when On3 reported that Georgia is "optimistic" that both Gaston and Greene will suit up and play against Tennessee.
Georgia would be back to their original starting five offensive linemen that took the field during week one if Gaston and Greene both play, and that would be a major advantage for UGA.
The Bulldogs offensive line did not play well last week against Austin Peay. They did fine in the run game, but their pass blocking was pretty awful. One of the biggest reasons why is because they were missing Gaston and Greene, so getting both players back at the same time would be nothing short of amazing.
Thankfully that is exactly what has happened as Georgia's official depth chart as of 1:15 pm EST lists Gaston as the starting right guard and Greene as the starting right tackle. So it appears Georgia's offensive line will feature all five of their original starters just in time for the biggest game of the season to this point.
