When will the rest of the NFL learn what the Philadelphia Eagles clearly already know about who to draft from college? No one is saying that there aren't great players from many other schools across the country, but if an NFL team is serious about winning the Super Bowl then they need to start drafting more players from Georgia.
This is something that the Eagles have done in recent years, so it is not surprising to find out that the Eagles, who just defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl 40-22, were able to win the Super Bowl with six former Georgia football stars in their organization.
This has been a big gripe among Georgia fans recently as most are fans of the Atlanta Falcons. For whatever reason, the Falcons have refused to draft former Georgia players which to no one's surprise has resulted in the failing to the make the playoffs since 2017.
But it's not just the Falcons that need to learn how important it is to draft former Bulldogs, it's the entire NFL if they are serious about winning championships.
Why is this the case?
As mentioned, there are a lot of players from across the country that are dominant in college who are capable of going on to the NFL and helping a team win a championship. But why is it so important for NFL organizations to focus on getting Georgia's former players on their team?
For starters, it goes without saying that Georgia always has elite players on their team. Georgia routinely has some of the best recruiting classes in the country, so there is always a stockpile of elite talent in Athens for NFL teams to choose from.
But going beyond that, Kirby Smart has built his program in a way that cultivates success both in college and in the NFL. Smart and Georgia have built their culture around being dominant and winning football games, which arguably is just as important as being a great player on the field. There are so many players that are just as good as Georgia's players, but they do not have the mindset needed to be successful and win championships. But that is a mindset Smart drills into all of his players that more NFL teams need to start taking advantage of.
Who knows if more NFL teams will pick up on this or not, but if you want your favorite NFL team to find success then you better hope they draft some Bulldogs in this spring's NFL Draft.
