The NFL season is officially over after the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday night en route to their second Super Bowl victory in franchise history. The Eagles jumped out to a massive 24-0 halftime lead and never looked back as they went on to defeat the two-time defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs 40-22.

For Georgia football fans, most likely did not have their favorite team playing in the Super Bowl this season. But that doesn't mean that they had nothing to cheer for as Georgia had multiple former players playing on both teams on Sunday night. This guaranteed that Georgia would have a former player win a Super Bowl ring this season, but it was the Eagles who had more Bulldogs on their team than the Chiefs, so that caused more UGA fans to cheer for them.

Let's take a quick look at the stats the three former Bulldogs who played in the Super Bowl who recored a stat for the Eagles.

Philly Dawgs Stats

DT Jordan Davis - Two tackles, one sack

DT Jalen Carter - Two QB hits

LB Nolan Smith - Two QB hits

It's also worth mentioning the three Bulldogs who are on the Eagles that did not record a stat in the Super Bowl but will still go down as Super Bowl Champions. Those players are Lewis Cine, Kelee Ringo and Nakobe Dean.

It is unfortunate that Georgia's former players did not play better in the Super Bowl, but they all played a huge part in getting the Eagles to the Super Bowl in the first place. So much so that Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts gave a shoutout to the former Bulldogs as a big reason why the Eagles even made it to the Super Bowl.

It will be fun to watch the NFL season next year because once again it will likely be dominated by former Bulldogs. Georgia has had a player in the Super Bowl 24 years in a row now, so it will be exciting to see who keeps that streak going next year.
