Brock Bowers being a 'football robot' is nothing new for Georgia fans

Football is in Brock Bowers' blood, which is what makes him a superstar for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Brock Bowers was a sensational player during his three years at Georgia. He left Athens after three seasons as the greatest tight end in college football history. The two-time national champion and Mackey Award winner is entering his third campaign as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders. While he gets to play for his third different head coach, there is a strong possibility that Klint Kubiak will stick...

Kubiak told local reports that Bowers is "a football robot from heaven", which UGA fans already knew.

With Stetson Bennett IV and later Carson Beck throwing him the football, Bowers quickly emerged as one of the greatest players in SEC football history. The guy's work ethic is unrivaled. His combination of size, speed, hands, and agility has him on the verge of superstardom. Of course, the Raiders are so highly dysfunctional. The big question now is what will Kubiak be able to do with this gridiron cyborg.

Now that Fernando Mendoza is part of the offense, look for Bowers' elite game to go to another level.

In college, Bowers may have played for a defensive-minded head coach in Kirby Smart throughout, but it was how well he shined in Todd Monken and later Mike Bobo's offense that made him a first-round pick. He may have been every bit the five-star coming out of Napa, California, but his college career could not have gone any better. Bowers was one game away from maybe a playoff three-peat.

When you cut open Bowers, does he bleed blood or plutonium? There is a non-zero chance it may be the latter. Regardless, the Raiders look to be a team very much on the uptick. Not only will this be year three for Bowers out of Georgia, but it will be year two for Ashton Jeanty out of Boise State in the backfield. The fact Mendoza is joining this rocking ship has more people optimistic about the Raiders.

Right now, it is all about Kubiak growing into his role as a head coach. He built up a reputation as a fabulous offensive coordinator with the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks, but he is now the star of the show. There is some debate on if he has the right personality to lead 53 full-grown men out of the tunnel 17 times a year. With the offensive talent he has at his disposal, we can only hope he can.

Overall, Georgia fans knew whatever team ended up drafting Bowers three years ago was going to be getting arguably the best talent to come out of Athens since AJ Green. Even a moribund franchise like the Raiders could not sink him, nor his spirit... Where players land matters, but Bowers seemed a bit bullet-proof. This is because he is a robot sent back in time to destroy everyone on a football field.

Look for Mendoza to Bowers to be for the AFC West what Philip Rivers to Antonio Gates was before.
