Former Georgia football tight end Brock Bowers has been breaking NFL records all season. And that really is not a surprise to any UGA fan after watching his greatness in Athens for three years. But even though everyone expected him to be great in the NFL, likely no one could have predicted the season he just had.
Bowers just wrapped up arguably one of the best rookie season in NFL history with the Las Vegas Raiders, and no that isn't an opinion. He has the stats to back it up.
Bowers finished the year with a whopping 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns. All of these stats are extremely impressive, but it's his total number of receptions that just made NFL history.
TE Brock Bowers (@brockbowers17) now has 110 catches in 2024, passing Malik Nabers (109) to officially secure the NFL record for most receptions by a rookie at any position in #NFL history.

Bowers makes NFL history
During the Raiders 34-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Bowers set the NFL record for most receptions in a player's rookie season. That record was held by Malik Nabers with 109, but Bowers' nine receptions took his total to 112 for the season.
This stat is not the only impressive thing Bowers did this season. Here are three other stats that show just how impressive Bower's rookie season really was.
1,194 receiving yards (1st among all tight ends)
596 yards after catch (1st among all tight ends)
15 contested catches (1st among all tight ends)
So not only did Bowers have the best rookie season from a tight end in NFL history, Bowers actually had the best season from any tight end this year. And with how many great tight ends that are currently in the NFL, that speaks to how great Bowers already is.
Bowers has a chance to do something special throughout his career. He has already shown he is one of the best tight ends in the NFL currently, but he has a chance to become one of the best tight ends of all time. Obviously he needs to have many more really good seasons like this year, but so far he has shown he is more than capable of that. So don't be surprised to see Bowers being talked about as one of the best tight ends of all time in five or six years.
