The Georgia football fanbase is very upset after their loss to Alabama last weekend. The Bulldog players and coaching staff are probably infinitely more upset than the fans are. But one loss isn't going to kill Georgia, especially in the manner that UGA lost last weekend.
No one is saying that it isn't wrong to be upset after last weekend, but certain segments of the fanbase have gone into full blown panic mode. And that is the last thing anyone should be doing right now.
680 The Fan radio host Buck Belue pleaded with Georgia fans earlier this week when he sent a message about what UGA fans should not be doing right now.
"Stay loyal to your head coach, his coaching staff and these young players," Belue shared on social media. "24 to 21 loss to Alabama was excruciating and I felt it too just like you, but no need to go rogue here, no reason to give up on the season for crying out loud... Alabama won that game because they made one more play than the Georgia Bulldogs made."
Now is not the time for Georgia fans to turn their back on Georgia
Georgia lost to Alabama early in the 2024 season as well, and does anyone remember what ended up happening later in the year? The Crimson Tide got to sit at home while they watched Georgia play for and win an SEC Championship and qualify for the College Football Playoff.
Sure it would have been nice to beat Alabama on Saturday, but losing to them doesn't end Georgia's season. It didn't end their season last year and it didn't end their season in 2021 after losing to the Tide in the SEC Championship game before bouncing back and beating them in the National Championship game one month later.
So now more than ever is the time for Georgia fans to get behind their team. UGA still has all of their goals in front of them, and they have shown they are good enough to beat any team in the country. So it's just a matter of if they will, and one thing that will help them along the way is complete buy-in from the fanbase the rest of the season.
