Carson Beck provides an injury update on himself
It seems like Georgia football can’t ever go one week at this point without having an injury scare, and that happened once again during the Bulldogs’ 59-21 win against UMass on Saturday.
A few players got banged up against UMass, but the most concerning was quarterback Carson Beck. After Beck’s last play of the game, he was seen somewhat struggling to get off the field. He did wave off the training staff who came over to check on him, but it was clear that something was bothering him.
After the game, Beck commented on this moment and shared that he’s thankfully doing just fine.
“I mean, I was hurting a little bit," Beck shared via dawgnation.com. "Body’s hurting for sure,” Beck said. “It’s football, so, you know. I don’t have a black jersey on out there like I do at practice. But no, I mean, I’m good. I was just hurting a little bit, but I mean, it is what it is. It’s football, so keep it pushing.”
Offensive lineman Tate Ratledge also provided a positive update on Beck as well.
“He was fine. I think at one time he got his finger stepped on or something,” Ratledge said. “I think he was kinda pissed about that but other than that he’s doing pretty well.”
No concern for Beck moving forward
It goes without saying how bad losing Beck would be right now. Beck is beginning to hit his stride as the season comes to an end after having back-to-back elite performances these last two games.
Beck also knows the offense better than anyone else, and the guys on the team trust Beck more than anyone else. So losing Beck for any amount of time would been tough to overcome.
Thankfully however Beck’s health does not seem like something anyone needs to worry about. Beck should be able to take it a little easy these next couple days, which should be enough to have him fully healthy and ready to go against Georgia Tech this Friday.
