Georgia once again has a very intriguing schedule they will face this fall. They will face a lot of the same teams they play every season like Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech, but there are countless other big games on their schedule as well.

CBS Sports however just shared which game is the most pivotal for Georgia, and it’s the one that everyone wants to win the most.

“There's a chance, albeit a small one, that Georgia could arrive in Oxford unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in early November,” Brad Crawford said via cbssports.com. “The matchup could carry top-four seed implications in the playoff race if Ole Miss is elite again under first-year coach Pete Golding. Georgia split its meetings with the Rebels last fall and, in each game, saw its secondary picked apart by Trinidad Chambliss, who is seeking an eligibility waiver at a mid-February hearing. Alabama and Florida will always draw attention, but if Georgia wants another SEC title, the Bulldogs will have to get past Ole Miss.”

Georgia's rematch with Ole Miss is as big as it will get in 2026

According to CBS Sports, Georgia's most pivotal game in 2026 is their matchup at Ole Miss. That may be a bit surprising considering the other opponents Georgia will play next season, but there is a lot of truth to it.

Early in the season Georgia faces a gauntlet that will be difficult to get through without a loss. Georgia begins week four with home games against Oklahoma and Vanderbilt followed up with a road game at Alabama. Winning all three of those games will be next to impossible, so assuming they do take one loss is why the Ole Miss game is so important.

Georgia is unlikely to lose after they play Ole Miss on Nov. 7. So in order to clinch their spot in the SEC Championship game and College Football Playoff all they may need to do is win this game. Then if you factor in the desire for revenge after losing to the Rebels in this year's playoff it becomes very apparant how important this game is.

If Georgia is undefeated entering this game then it really won't matter all that much. The most likely scenario however is Georgia having one loss when they travel to Oxford which absolutely will make this the biggest game of the season.
