Georgia football just put the finishing touches on yet another strong regular season. Whlie the Bulldogs still have work to do in the College Football Playoff, a 12-1 record with a win in the SEC Championship game deserves to be celebrated.
CBS Sports released their season grades for every team in the SEC this week, and they gave a very strong grade to Georgia. However, they gave an even better grade to Alabama which makes no sense at all.
CTE Alert 🫨🚨:@bmarcello gives 12-1, SEC champion & 3 seed UGA an A- while giving 10-3 Alabama, the team they smashed by 21 an A & Vandy, a 10-2 team that couldn’t make the SECCG or the playoffs, an A+.

CBS Sports gives to Alabama what Georgia deserved to receive
CBS Sports gave Georgia an A- grade for their 2025 season. That is a bit strange considering they beat every team on their schedule and won the SEC in dominant fashion, but this team was expected to win the conference and that is what they did. So at the end of the day an A- grade is more than fair.
They however decided to give Alabama an A grade. Alabama and Georgia both entered the season with the same expectations, to win the SEC and make a run at a National Championship. While both teams are still alive in the playoff, it was Georgia who won the SEC and beat Alabama in the championship game along the way. So it doesn't make any sense why they gave the Tide a better grade.
Alabama also lost three game this season compared to Georgia's one. Sure Georgia did lose to Alabama, but the Crimson Tide lost at home to Oklahoma and have an ugly loss to a bad Florida State team as well. But even after all of that, CBS Sports still thinks they deserved a better grade than Georgia.
The good news is that Georgia still has time to prove they had a better season than Alabama. Many UGA fans would argue that they already have, but if Georgia goes on to win the national title then no one will be able to argue that Alabama, or any other team for that matter, had a better season than them.
