The Georgia Bulldogs cannot afford to lose their star linebacker CJ Allen for any lengthy duration. While the Georgia defense has been every bit up and down this season, Allen has been the star performer throughout. He is a candidate for the Butkus Award as the best linebacker in the country. Although he may not win it, his great play has been instrumental in Georgia making a charge of late.

Up 14-3 not long before halftime, Allen suffered what looks to be a leg injury on a play trying to disrupt the passer. He got pushed to the ground by a Texas player shortly after quarterback Arch Manning was able to throw the ball. Allen quietly walked off the field before a cut-in during the game showed him heading to the Georgia locker room. The Bulldogs will need him down the stretch here.

Here is a clip of the play in which Allen was injured on. You can clearly see him grabbing his leg here.

Here is the very latest on the health of Georgia's most important defensive player moving forward.

CJ Allen injury update: Georgia linebacker is "out for now" with leg injury

Shortly after the second half began, Allen was deemed "out for now" by the Georgia training staff.

While it looked to be a hamstring injury, it will be Raylen Wilson wearing the green dot ... for now.

The good news for Georgia is their star defensive lineman Christen Miller was back out there to start the second half after he got banged up not long after Allen had to exit the game. Georgia is going to need to come together to overcome losing its most important defensive player moving forward. There are plenty of talented players on this Georgia defense, but Allen is the great communicator.

Overall, Georgia was able to keep the Texas offense out of the end zone in the first half, even after Allen had to had to the locker room with his leg injury. The problem is offense sputtered after its first two scoring drives. Even more concerning, the punting game is no longer a weapon for the Georgia defense. It has been giving Manning and the Texas offense a ton of short fields to work with so far.

We will provide you with the latest on the Allen injury front. We can only hope he is not out for long...
