Winning will always be the most important thing in college athletics, but having fun is something that matters too. So college athletics at Georgia is at its best when the Bulldogs win a game and have a blast at the same time.
That is exactly what happened on Tuesday night in Georgia baseball’s come from behind victory over Kennesaw State. The Bulldogs found themselves trailing Kennesaw State 4-0 after two innings, but that didn’t matter to UGA. Georgia stormed all the way back and tied the game 4-4 at the end of the eighth inning before they exploded for two more runs in the ninth to win 6-4.
While a come from behind victory like this will always make headlines, the final out of the game went viral all across social media. And this wasn’t your average college baseball viral clip, because what Georgia closer Brian Curley did on the final pitch of the game went viral far beyond college baseball fans.
Georgia’s closer is the most confident man in all of college sports

Brian Curley has the most confidence in the world
Georgia needed just one more strike to complete their comeback win on Tuesday night, and tensions were very high as the winning run was at the plate. But that didn’t bother Curley as he turned to look at the runner on second base, stuck his tongue out at him, then delivered the final strike to win the game.
Is this the most confident play in Georgia athletics history? It very well could be. But it also is potentially one of the most fun plays in Georgia history too. But not everyone thought to kindly of this play. In fact, many people throughout the country were very upset.
That's pathetic!!

Zero respect for the game or your opponent!!
One trip to the mound would stop that sh_t!!#bushleague https://t.co/VWYgRbEIWG
There are definitely multiple lines that shouldn’t be crossed in sports, and one of those lines is disrespecting your opponent. But are we sure this crossed that line? What’s so bad about having a little fun with your opponent in a big game like this after watching your team erase a four run deficit?
Play better baseball
Curley could have done so much worse than just sticking his tongue out at the Kennesaw State player. He could’ve gotten in his face after the final out or said some words that shouldn’t be said, but is sticking out your tongue such a bad thing?
Baseball is a sport that is losing attraction with the next generation, but it’s plays like this that will make everyone want to watch. This play also is very similar to a crazy bat flip or trotting around the bases very slowly after a home run, and is there anything wrong with that? Not in the slightest.
But to the people that are upset about this play, there is something that could be done to prevent this or moments similar to this in the future. Play better baseball. If Kennesaw State didn’t give up their four run lead and won the game, then this moment never would have happened.
So the best way to stop your opponent from having fun with you like Curley did is to just play better ball.
