Texas doesn't need any help finding motivation to play Georgia on Saturday. The Longhorns lost to Georgia twice last season, once at home as the No. 1 team in the country and a second time in the SEC Championship game.
Two losses to the same team can't get any worse than that, so this is the one game on Texas's schedule this season that they want to win the most. But there is another piece of motivation at play on Saturday for Texas involving the College Football Playoff.
The Longhorns were in the 12-team field on Tuesday when the CFP committee released their second rankings of the season, but they are by no means a lock to make the playoff at this point. But David Pollack believes that Texas would become a lock to make the playoff if they beat Georgia on Saturday.
“If Texas beats Georgia or A&M, they’re in the Playoff.”@davidpollack47 makes his case for why the Longhorns deserve a spot in the CFP if they can go 2-1 in their last three games.

David Pollack gives Texas extra motivation before playing Georgia
The last thing Georgia wanted entering this matchup is to have Texas find even more reasons to want to beat them. Unfortunately that is exactly what Pollack did by claiming the Longhorns will make the playoff if they beat Georgia.
Pollack's thought process is definitely up for debate because Texas could lose their final two games of the season even if they beat Georgia and finish the year at 8-4. They would undoubtedly miss the playoff if they did that, but that doesn't really matter all that much. Pollack is making sure Texas knows their playoff lives are potentially on the line this weekend, and that is the last thing Georgia wants them to hear before walking into Sanford Stadium.
All Georgia can do is focus on what they can control, but it is hard to imagine this statement from Pollack not giving Texas an edge on Saturday.
