Mississippi State is one of the last teams Georgia will ever worry about in the SEC. And considering they are 1-4 in conference place this season, there don't seem to be many reasons why Georgia should be too scared entering this matchup.
David Pollack however does not agree. He believes that playing Mississippi State is going to be far more difficult than anyone thinks, and he made sure to let Georgia and Kirby Smart know.
"Let's take off the table that Mississippi State's going to get a ton of stops and that Mississippi State is going to win a low scoring game," Pollack said via ugawire.usatoday.com. "There's one way for Mississippi State to win this game. It's through the air. It's throwing the football."
David Pollack warns Georgia about facing Mississippi State
Pollack made it clear that he thinks Mississippi State's offense can keep them in this game on Saturday. Georgia's defense has struggled for much of this year, so facing a team that's averaging over 33 points per game is concerning. But Mississippi State does most of their damage through the air, and that's been Georgia's biggest weakness so far this season.
But even if Pollack expects Mississippi State to find a lot of success, he still believes Georgia will win this game.
"I'm not picking against Georgia because even if it does get sloppy and it gets high scoring (like Georgia's game at) Tennessee (or Ole Miss), Georgia can do it," Pollack continued. "Georgia can win multiple ways. Mississippi State's going to have to outscore you."
Kickoff between Georgia and Mississippi State is scheduled for Noon EST on Saturday. Georgia is favored by a little more than a touchdown, but Pollack won't be surprised if this game is even closer than that.
