There are a lot of question marks surrounding Georgia football's team heading into the 2025 season. Most of those questions surround the quarterback position as fans wonder how Gunner Stockton will do as a full time starter.
The quarterback position however isn't the biggest concern for David Pollack, who recently discussed that he believes both lines of scrimmage will be the biggest issues for Georgia this season.
“I think defensive line is probably the biggest issue, but I would just say, I would steal and go lines of scrimmage,” Pollack shared via on3.com. “Because offensive line wasn’t that much better for Georgia a year ago. It was a big struggle. It was super inconsistent. Running the football, just period.”
"So both lines of scrimmage, which is a staple of,” Pollack continues. “And physicality and toughness, they kind of lacked that a year ago in that department. So I’m really interested to see if that really comes back.”
Georgia will struggle in 2025 if the lines of scrimmage don't improve
Elite play in the trenches has been a staple of the Kirby Smart era at Georgia. This is especially the case on the defensive side of the ball as this group has carried UGA to a lot of their success over the past few years.
After losing Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker to the NFL though, who knows how Georgia's defensive front will do this season.
Georgia's offensive line however has a lot more to prove in 2025. This group struggled a lot last season, mainly because of all the injuries they suffered throughout the season. Even though that was the case, Pollack believes this group wasn't physical or tough enough which is a serious problem in the SEC.
The 2025 season could be very long for Georgia if the lines of scrimmage struggle like Pollack thinks they could. It is nearly impossible to win in the SEC if a team has issues in the trenches, so hopefully that doesn't become Georgia's reality in two months when their season begins.
