David Pollack is easily one of Georgia football fans most beloved former players. Not only because he was a force on the field, but he has turned into an amazing analyst who gives a lot of great information about Georgia and the rest of the SEC.

But one thing about Pollack is that he tells everything exactly how he sees it. Pollack can't be faulted for this as most fans wish all media members were like this, but this does cause Pollack to get into a little trouble with Georgia fans.

The latest example of this is when Pollack shared that he doesn't think Georgia is close to being a top five team in the country entering the 2025 season.

David Pollack doesn't think Georgia is a top five team

“Yeah, absolutely, I’m not putting Georgia in the top five,” Pollack said via dawgnation.com. “They lost a good bit.”

Pollack makes a good point about the talent Georgia lost this offseason. The Bulldogs had 13 players drafted while losing some key pieces to the transfer portal as well. But this is nothing new to Georgia as they lose many elite players every year and they always seem to recover just fine.

But fans typically know who those guys next in line at Georgia are, but according to Pollack that isn't the case this year.

"Who are you depending on right now that’s you’re saying is an All-American at Georgia? I could have named five a year ago," Pollack shared. “This is the first time for me going into a season, where I’m like, ‘Who are Georgia’s dudes? Like, Who are the guys, defensively, offensively ...?”

So who is Pollack's top 5?

“This year, I’ve got four, five, six, seven teams and I’m like, OK, they might be fighting for that next tier of the next five," Pollack said.

So who are those teams clearly above Georgia in Pollack's eyes? Here are his current top five times after the spring transfer portal window closed.

1. Texas

2. Ohio State

3. Oregon

4. Clemson

5. Penn State

At the end of the day, it's hard to fault Pollack for this opinion. All five of these teams have the potential to be better than Georgia, but the good thing about sports is that Georgia will every chance to prove everyone wrong during the season.

Also, if Pollack's top five is accurate, that means Georgia is still the second best team in the SEC. So they will have every chance to compete for and win the SEC Championship again before rolling the dice in the College Football Playoff.
