Georgia football will enter the 2026 season the same way they always. They will expect to not just compete for an SEC Championship, but for a National Championship as well.
Accomplishing both of these goals is never easy, but when it comes to Georgia they are expected to always have a roster that is good enough to compete for championships. Former Bulldog legend David Pollack however isn't so sure about that.
“It’s the first time I’ve ever gone into a season with Kirby, and I’m going, ‘Who’s the ballers?’ Who is going to be the All-American? Because usually you’ve got three or four that are first-round picks,” Pollack said via athlonsports.com.”
David Pollack is losing faith in Kirby Smart, Georgia
Pollack believes that Georgia doesn't have anyone on their roster that is capable of making an All-American team. He said that going into most seasons he is able to point to a few players that could be named an All-American at the end of the season, this year however he does not feel that way.
Most Georgia fans would point to players like Gunner Stockton and Nate Frazier as two guys who could be named an All-American on the offensive side of the ball. Then there is Ellis Robinson who some would argue could get it done on the defensive side of the ball. Pollack however doesn't even think these three superstars are capable of becoming All-Americans.
The biggest reason why this opinion doesn't make sense is because of Kirby Smart. He knows how to get the very best out of every player on his roster, and that fact alone is why Georgia should never be doubted.
So even though there are some obvious questions surrounding this year's team, Georgia more than likely will be competing for championships at the end of the season behind multiple All-American caliber players.
