David Pollack was just hired by On3 on Aug. 25, then just one day later he unloaded a fiery take about the Texas Longhorns and all the drama that is unfolding in Austin. Not only did he mention the struggles quarterback Arch Manning and the entire offense are facing during fall camp, but he also pointed out a few off-the-field issues that are distracting Texas right now.

David Pollack points out the Texas' drama hanging over their program
There's never that good of a time to have drama in your program, but one week out from the first game of the year might be one of the worst times to have things distracting a program. Unfortunately for Texas that is exactly what is happening.
Arch Manning and the Texas offense struggling in camp is one thing. That isn't a reason to sound an alarm about the program head coach Steve Sarkisian has built because every team has at least a few areas of concern at this point in the season, but off-the-field issues are a bit more concerning. Defensive back Ty'Anthony Smith was just dismissed from the program for conduct detrimental to the team, and a freshman's parent just took to social media and was calling out the coaching staff as well.
All of these issues are some of the last things anyone at Texas wants to see happen right now, but unfortunately for them they have to deal with these distractions with the college football season about to get underway.
Fortunately for Georgia they aren't dealing with any known off-the-field issues, and considering Texas is one of their top competitors in the SEC this year all of this drama could end up helping them.
Texas' drama could benefit Georgia in the long run
Georgia and Texas don't play during the regular season this year, but they could meet in the SEC Championship game for the second time in three years. Oddsmakers believe Georgia and Texas are the most likely teams to win the SEC, so that means they believe Texas has the best chance to unseat Georgia from their SEC throne.
These off-the-field issues could hurt their chances of even making it to the SEC Championship game though.
Texas faces one of the most difficult schedules in the entire conference this year. Not only do they have to play the likes of Oklahoma, Ole Miss, LSU and Texas A&M during the regular season, but they also face Ohio State during week two as well. That schedule is already daunting enough, but with off-the-field issues and an offense that is struggling to click, who knows if they'll be able to survive and make it to Atlanta or to the College Football Playoff.
Georgia has their own schedule to worry about before they could ever play Texas, but the more the other top teams in the league struggle the better for them. And considering Texas is their greatest challenger the Bulldogs should love seeing all of this drama unfolding in Austin.
