The fireworks are beginning for Georgia football during the most important recruiting month of the year. The month of June is when most recruits in the upcoming high school senior class take their official visits, so this is when they start figuring out which schools they want to go to.

Georgia currently has 18 recruits taking official visits this weekend, and to no one’s surprise many of the top recruits in the country are in town. This created a lot of hype heading into the weekend because more often than not, Georgia earns at least one commitment after every one of these big recruiting weekends.

That hype hit an all time high after On3’s Hayes Fawcett hinted at big news coming for Georgia earlier on Saturday. Thankfully Georgia fans didn’t have to wait very long to find out what this news was as four-star defensive lineman Carter Luckie just announced his commitment to Georgia.

4-star Carter Luckie kept the family tradition alive with commitment to Georgia

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Luckie is the No. 318 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 39 defensive lineman in the 2026 class and the No. 40 player from his home state of Georgia.

Luckie is likely a name every Georgia fan recognizes as he is the younger brother of current Georgia tight end Lawson Luckie. His older brother however isn’t his only connection to Georgia as his father Mike and two uncles Dustin and Miles all played at Georgia in the 1990s together as well.

So it was pretty much a guarantee that Luckie would keep the family tradition alive and play for Georgia if he was good enough to earn an offer. And he has more than proven that he has the ability to be a force in the trenches for Georgia in the years to come.
