Drew Bobo injury update: Georgia star center exits game vs. Georgia Tech

Drew Bobo getting hurt again is among one of the very last things Georgia could want right now.

With the Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate still very much hanging in the balances, the Georgia Bulldogs are going to have to make some adjustments offensively with a key contributor going down. Although he does not have any carries or catches this year, Drew Bobo touches the ball on every snap. The star center for the Dawgs has been dealing with injuries of late, and may have just suffered another one...

Bobo had to exit Friday afternoon's rivalry game vs. Georgia Tech with what looks to be a foot injury. He had an injured hand coming and missed the Charlotte last week because of it. Bobo suffered a laceration on his snapping hand a few weeks ago, but was able to make it work vs. Texas at home to close out SEC play. Unfortunately, he is not going to be available to play for the rest of the game here.

Bobo went to the x-ray room at halftime to get his leg looked at. This is not a good look at all for UGA.

It became apparent that after halftime Bobo was just going to watch the game while wearing a boot.

It was redshirt freshman Malachi Tolliver in at center with Bobo out of the game and in a walking boot.

Georgia has been able to run the ball vs. Georgia Tech, but it cannot lose momentum in this one...

Drew Bobo injury update: Georgia center out of game and in walking boot

There is no way around it. This is one of the worst injuries that could happen to the Georgia offense. We are talking about the guy who snaps the football to Stockton on every play. They are great friends and have been in sync all season long. While Tolliver is certainly good enough to play at a place like Georgia, maybe Dawg Nation is hoping they can avoid getting to the SEC Championship next week?

This has not been a banner day for Heisman Trophy hopeful Gunner Stockton, as Georgia has not been able to do all that much in the passing game. Stockton may have had a first-half touchdown, but also threw an interception. Georgia may not need this game to make the College Football Playoff, in all likelihood. Keep in mind that this rivalry game has no impact on league play for the Bulldogs either.

Overall, seeing Bobo in a walking boot is not landing well within Dawg Nation. This has not been one of their better games offensively, and now the Dawgs are largely compromised with what they can do long term. It will be up to Bobo's father in offensive coordinator Mike Bobo to make sure that Georgia can improve to 11-1 on the year and potentially get a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff.

We will provide an update on the health of Bobo after the game as soon as we know anything major.
