Over the past decade Georgia football has become one of the programs with the highest expectations year after year. And they deserve all of those expectations as they have won two of the last three national championships and have been at the highest level in the college football world for quite some time now.

With that being the case the only goals that Georgia has each season are an SEC and national championship. However, there is one slightly smaller goal that is still just as important as these two goals.

Making the College Football Playoffs.

It goes without saying how important just making the playoffs is because you obviously can't win a national title without doing so. And after two straight years of making it to the playoffs the Bulldogs were left out of the playoffs last season.

So to get the program back on track, making the CFP this season is the absolute bare minimum, and according to ESPN Georgia has some of the better odds to accomplish just that.

According to ESPN's FPI projections, Georgia is given a 75 percent chance at making the CFP. These are the fourth best odds in the country behind Ohio State, Texas and Miami and is slightly better than Alabama who just beat the Bulldogs already this season.

What does Georgia need to do to make the playoffs?

With Georgia sitting at 4-1 this season and having seven games remaining on the schedule it's clear they have their work cut out for them if they want to be included, and unfortunately their schedule will make it difficult. But we are talking about Georgia here, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Three games however loom large on the Bulldogs' schedule that will be the deciding factor on if the Bulldogs make it back to the CFP or not. Two road games at Texas and Ole Miss as well as a home date with Tennessee all present immense challenges for Georgia. Realistically Georgia will need to win two of these three games to guarantee their spot in the playoffs, but even if they lose two they would still have an outside chance at being selected as one of the final teams in.

The other four games on the schedule are must wins in my eyes. Can Georgia still make it in even if they lose one of them? Absolutely, but they would have no room for error after that. A loss against a team like Mississipi State is crippling to the point where one more loss would seal their fate.

But like I mentioned we are talking about Georgia football here. The expectation is for them to win every game and it would not be surprising to see them do so. That journey begins this weekend when Mississippi State comes to town and then the real challenges begin the week after as the Bulldogs travel to Austin, TX to take on the Longhorns and potential No. 1 team in the country.
