Georgia football once again faces one of the most difficult schedules in the country this season. The Bulldogs nonconference schedule may be a little easier as Georgia Tech is the only power four opponent on their schedule, but UGA's SEC schedule is as difficult as it gets.
The Bulldogs get to play Texas, Alabama and Ole Mis at home while hitting the road early in the season against Tennessee. Georgia also travels to Auburn and has their annual rivalry game against Florida in Jacksonville as well.
UGA could realistically lose a few of these games, but ESPN's Matchup Predictor believe that Georgia will drop just one game towards the end of their season.
ESPN predicts Georgia to lose to Texas again
Georgia was told the entire 2024 season that they aren't good enough to compete with Texas. No one believed they would win the first meeting in Austin, and even after bringing a big victory home to Athens Georgia was still doubted by many heading into the SEC Championship game.
But what did UGA do? They won both meetings against the Longhorns to prove their dominance over them.
Georgia once again faces Texas this season, however the Bulldogs get the Longhorns in Athens this season. But even though Georgia gets to play Texas at home and found a lot of success against them last seaosn, ESPN still believes Texas will win. In fact, their Matchup Predictor gives Texas a 54.3 percent chance to win this game.
ESPN still believes this will be a very close game that could go either way, but it just doesn't make sense why everyone still believes in the Longhorns more than the team that actually won the game twice last season. Georgia however will have their chance to prove their doubters wrong, but most importantly a win in this game would likely lock the Bulldogs into an SEC Championship game appearance.
