The College Football Playoff has been around for a decade now, and it's safe to say that the college football world has gotten to see some elite teams during that time. And Georiga football has contributed to many of those great teams.
But how does Georgia's College Football Playoff teams compare to the rest of the country during the 10 years the CFP has been around?
ESPN recently shared their top 10 CFP teams of all time, and to no one's surprise, Georgia's two National Championship winning teams were included on this list.

Georgia football National Championship teams inside the top 6
A lot of the time when major outlets post rankings like this, they typically do not give Georgia the respect they deserve. However, this time around ESPN did a pretty good job.
For starters, ESPN made the right choice by ranking 2022 Georgia above 2021 Georgia. Both teams definitely deserve to be on this list, but UGA's undefeated season in 2022 easily deserves to be above Kirby Smart's first National Championship team in 2021.
Now looking at the teams at the top, we find Georgia's 2022 team at No. 3. And while this team was extremely strong, it's hard to argue against ESPN's decision to put 2020 Alabama and 2019 LSU above Georgia. It's also hard to argue against 2023 Michigan and 2018 Clemson getting placed above 2021 Georgia as well. All of these teams are so close to each other, that putting them in any order likely wouldn't cause much pushback from UGA fans.
Georgia's team in 2023 likely would have been included on this list had they made the CFP last season, but unfortunately they did not meet the criteria.
It's also unlikely that this year's Georgia team will be included on this list, even if they do end up winning it all. But at the end of the day, all that matters is Georgia bringing home a National Championship this season, being included on this list is just an added bonus that will never be as important.
