Georgia football has gotten off to a quick 2-0 start to their 2025 season, but that was the expectation since the Bulldogs faced two inferior opponents to begin their season. Georgia however is ready to move on from their first two games and officially get their season underway with their first big game of the season quickly approaching.
This Saturday the Bulldogs will travel to Knoxville to take on the No. 15 Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols are riding high so far this season as they comfortably beat Syracuse week one before putting up 72 points this past week against East Tennessee State. These early results show that this game has the chance to go either way, but the Bulldogs are the early favorite according to Vegas.
ESPN on the other hand has decided that Georgia is not the favorite in this game as they give the slight edge to Tennessee for Saturday's showdown.
ESPN picks Tennessee to upset Georgia
According to Fanduel Sportsbook, Georgia currently is a 4.5 point favorite over Tennessee. This by no means is a massive spread, but Vegas feels confident Georgia will beat the Vols this weekend. The same however cannot be said about ESPN who currently gives Tennessee a 51.5 percent chance to win this game.
Georgia has beaten Tennessee eight straight seasons by at least 14 points, but ESPN is predicting that streak to end and the Vols to walk away with a big victory over the Bulldogs this weekend.
Whoever wins this game will become an early favorite to make it to Atlanta to play for an SEC Championship. The loser will still have a chance to make it to Atlanta as well, but winning this game would greatly increase the chances of both teams to compete for an SEC Championship this season.
All Georgia knows is beating Tennessee, so hopefully they can prove ESPN wrong and escape with a big victory later this weekend.
