Georgia has a handful of big games coming up fast on their schedule, but potentially the most important this season is their road game at Ole Miss.
Not only is this a chance for revenge against the team that knocked them out of the playoff last year, but the Rebels so far look like the best team on their schedule at this point in the season. ESPN however is strangely confident in Georgia’s chances to beat Ole Miss as they currently give UGA a 70 percent chance to go into Oxford and leave with a victory even though Ole Miss has the far superior resume.
Georgia is still projected to finish 12-0 according to ESPN FPI after moving to 3-0 on the season. 🐶👀

Ole Miss has the best resume in the SEC
Through three games Ole Miss has the best resume in the conference and it isn’t particularly close. The Rebels have a victory over LSU this past weekend as well a win against Louisville in their season opener who is currently ranked No. 16 in the country.
Georgia on the other hand hasn’t played a true opponent yet. Sure they are 3-0 with three blowout victories, but that’s hardly worth celebrating due to the level of competition they faced. Even with all of this being the case ESPN still gives Georgia a 70 percent chance to beat Ole Miss on the road this season.
Georgia will have a chance to prove themselves before playing Ole Miss. That begins this weekend against Oklahoma and will continue as they face Alabama, Auburn and Florida before playing the Rebels. These odds however don’t make a lot of sense because Ole Miss is the home team and already have two wins that are far better than what Georgia has.
ESPN however is still confident in Georgia, and hopefully they turn out to be correct.
ESPN’s odds heavily favor Georgia the rest of the season
ESPN clearly is a big believer in Georgia at this point in the season. Not only do they still believe Georgia will win all of their games this year, but they’re odds to do so are insanely high.
ESPN gives Georgia at least an 80 percent chance to win seven of their last nine games. This includes having an 83 percent chance to beat Oklahoma this weekend even though the Sooners have one of the top defenses in the country.
Alabama is the matchup ESPN likes Georgia in the least, but they still give them a 58 percent chance to win on the road. Their odds in this game were nearly 50/50 two weeks ago, but the Bulldogs have improved their odds after two big wins the last couple weeks.
As long as Georgia wins the seven games they’re heavily favored in then they should make the College Football Playoff. Then if they can beat Alabama or Ole Miss they’ll have a good shot at playing for an SEC Champipnship, but if they go 12-0 they could be the No. 1 team in the country entering the SEC Championship game.
Only time will tell if that ends up happening, but as of now ESPN is weirdly confident in this Georgia team even though they haven’t played anyone particularly good yet.
