Georgia football is one of the hottest teams in the country. Not only are they on a six game win streak, but they are dominating the teams they are playing. This past week they welcomed No. 10 Texas to Athens, and what did they do? They blew the Longhorns out 35-10.

This win moved Georgia up one spot to No. 4 in the third edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. Georgia fans obviously want to be higher, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter beause of how great they are playing right now.

Georgia's recent resurgence however led ESPN's Peter Burns to compare Georgia to Ohio State's team in 2024 that ultimately won a National Championship.

Georgia football compared to 2024 Ohio State

Burns compared Georgia to Ohio State's team in 2024 because both teams came on strong at the end of the season.

Ohio State finished the regular season last year at 10-2 and missed the Big Ten Championship game because of their loss to a bad Michigan team in their season finale. But that didn't stop the Buckeyes because they immediately looked like the best team in the country when the CFP began as they beat Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame en route to their national title.

Similarly to Ohio State, Georgia did not look that great at the start of this season. They did lose an early game to Alabama, but in a lot of their wins they did not look very strong. But they have since turned a corner and now look like the best team in the country after their dominant victory over Texas.

Georgia is hoping their season will finish just like Ohio State's did last year, but it is never a bad thing to be compared to a team that ended up winning a National Championship.
