One of the biggest stories in the NFL this offseason is when the Baltimore Ravens decided to move on from long time head coach John Harbuagh. This news came one day after a missed game-winning field goal kept the Ravens out of the playoffs, but it still shocked the entire NFL because Harbaugh was viewed as one of the top head coaches in the league right now.

Harbaugh's offensive coordinator in Baltimore is none other than Todd Monken. Georgia fans are very familiar with Monken who spent three seasons as the Bulldogs's offensive coordinator which included their two National Championship wins.

Monken however is getting caught up in Harbaugh's firing as some reporters are partially blaming him for the Ravens' decision to move on from him.

The above report indicates that Harbaugh was extremely loyal to Monken. It also implies that members of the Ravens organization wanted Harbaugh to fire him, but he chose to keep him on his staff. So while this wasn't the only thing that led to Harbaugh being fired, it sounds like his refusal to move on from Monken is at least one reason he is gone.

It will be interesting to see where Monken ends up now. He will be a prime candidate for other jobs in the NFL and could even get a look at a head coaching job. Monken ultimately wants to stay in the NFL, but what if he made a reunion at Georgia?

Everyone at Georgia would welcome him with open arms, but that might be unlikely since Mike Bobo has the offensive coordinator job locked down in Athens right now. Monken probably wouldn't be willing to take a job below that, but anything is possible if he can't find a job elsewhere.

Regardless of where Monken ends up, Georgia will continue to cheer him on. It would be nice for him to end up in Athens, but the most likely landing spot for him is on Harbaugh's new staff at whatever NFL team ends up hiring him.
