The NFL Playoffs have rolled on to the divisional round, and once again former Georgia football stars are dominating on the biggest stage. While there are many Bulldogs who had great performances this weekend, two standout defenders on the Philadelphia Eagles shined as the Eagles defeated Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams 28-22.

Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith

The first Bulldog who shined for the Eagles was Jalen Carter, who was all over the field during this game on Sunday. Carter finished with five tackles which included an impressive two sacks. Carter was also active defending the pass as well as he recorded one pass deflection.

Carter clearly had the best game out of any defender for Philadelphia on Sunday, but teammate Nolan Smith played extremely well as well. Smith recorded a sack of his own in this game as well as four total tackles.

While Georgia fans want to see every former Bulldog play well, it is really cool to see these two dominate against another Georgia legend in Stafford. Even though Stafford and the Rams lost this game, Stafford played extremely well. He completed 26 of 44 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns. While this is an impressive performance considering the snowy conditions this game was played in, it unfortunately was not enough for the Rams to win this game.

Carter and Smith now move on to the NFC Championship game which will be played next Sunday. Thanks to the loss from the Detroit Lions on Saturday, the Eagles will host the Championship game against the division rival Washington Commanders.

The Eagles will be the favorites to win this game and make the Super Bowl, but the Commanders are proving to be one of the hottest teams in the league right now. So Philadelphia will need another big game from Carter and Smith if they are going to win this game and make it back to the Super Bowl.
