NFL football is officially back as the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys rung in the start of the 2025 season on Thursday Night Football.
The Eagles and Cowboys are one of the fiercest rivalries the NFL has to offer, so that is reason enough for any football fan to tune into this game. But Georgia fans have the added benefit of having a handful of Bulldogs on Philadelphia's team that they can cheer on throughout the night.
Unfortunately Georgia great Jalen Carter was ejected before the first play of the game after spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Jalen Carter ejected before the first play of the game
What was Carter thinking? Everyone knows there is bad blood between these two teams, so trash talk was expected to be at an all time high all game long. But spitting on someone, let alone the Cowboys starting quarterback, is way over the line.
But to make matters even worse, Carter was ejected for this incident before the first snap of the game. The opening kickoff just took place and Carter was taking the field with the Eagles defense for their first play of the season. But before that play could even happen, Carter got in Prescott's face and spit on him which resulted in his ejection.
Carter is a huge piece of this Eagles defense as he enters the third season of his career. Last season Carter finished with 42 tackles, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles as he helped lead the Eagles to their Super Bowl win. Expectations were even higher for him this season now that he is becoming a veteran of the NFL who knows how to win at the highest level. That is why this incident is so massive because Carter's absence could be the difference between the Eagles winning and losing.
For Carter's sake the Eagles better win, because if they lose there will be a long line of very unhappy Eagles fans waiting to voice their displeasures.
