Gunner Stockton has been the topic of every Georgia fan's conversation for the past few months. Fans have wondered if the quarterback will be good enough to replace Carson Beck in this new-look offense. Just recently, former UGA legend Jake Fromm told Georgia faithful that they should trust Srockton entering the 2025 season.
Jake Fromm says Gunner Stockton is "Ready"
In Fromm's recent interview with DawgNation, Fromm made it known that Stockton has his stamp of approval. Fromm stated that from everything he has heard and seen from Stockton, he is "honing in" his role as the starting quarterback for the Dawgs. The former star player said that there might be some hiccups or bumps along the road in the beginning, but Stockton "knows the standard" for him at Georgia.
Fromm knows exactly what Stockton will be going through this season at UGA. Fromm was thrust into a starting role at Georgia as a true freshman in week one in 2017. Once he did that, he took it in stride and led the team all the way to a national championship game appearance. He knows the pressure and the standard that is set before a new starting QB in Athens. It is a challenge, and one that Fromm excelled at. So for Fromm to give his stamp of approval on Stockton is huge for fans.
Fromm knows exactly what it takes to win in Athens. Beyond that, he knows the pressure of being in Stockton's shoes. He himself has faced it. Now that Fromm is excited and believes in the young QB, fans can rest assured that Srockton is ready. If fans weren't already convinced from his ability to step in for Beck in the SEC Championship game last year, this is the sign that Stockton has what it takes.
People forget that Stockton went 46-7 in his high school career. Once he entered Athens, he then sat and learned behind Stetson Bennett and Carson Beck, two of the greatest QBs in Georgia history. He has experience, poise, talent, and knows what is expected of him, and you cannot ask for much more out of a new starting quarterback in the SEC.
