Four teams that could prevent Georgia from winning a National Championship

Georgia football is looking like a true national championship contender once again, but there are a few teams that they need to be mindful of that could keep them from winning it all.

"Contenders" Georgia shouldn't be worried about

Now you all may be wondering where some other teams are on this list. There are a lot of really good teams that were not mentioned, but that was for good reason.

The four teams listed already are locks to make the College Football Playoffs and are true contenders in most people's eyes. But there is a subset of teams that have a great chance to make the CFP, but likely don't stand much of a chance at winning it all.

Those teams are Penn State, Notre Dame, BYU, Iowa State, Boise State, Indiana and Clemson.

I'll be honest that Clemson was close to being listed with the first four teams that could win it all, but Georgia was just too dominant in the season opener and would likely beat Clemson by a fair amount once again.

But all of these other teams, while they are very good and deserve to be in contention to make the playoffs, would not scare Georgia one bit. Maybe they would be able to hang around with Georgia in the beginning of the game, but the Bulldogs are too talented and these programs have too little experience to be serious threats in the playoffs.

The fun part about this is that Georgia likely will get to play one of these teams at some point. UGA will either win the SEC, get a top four seed and play one of them in the quarterfinals, or the Bulldogs will host one of them in the first round at Sanford Stadium if they do not win the SEC. So one of these teams will get their shot at Georgia later this year, but Georgia fans likely won't have to worry too much when that time comes.
