Future Georgia opponent just got a lot more intimidating

Georgia once again faces a daunting schedule next year. There are many teams on that schedule that are more than capable of beating Georgia, and that includes Ole Miss.

That game however was never viewed as the most difficult on Georgia’s schedule because star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was out of eligibility. But after a long legal battle with the NCAA, Chambliss has earned one more year of eligibility and will lead Ole Miss next year.

Georgia’s worst nightmare has come true

This is the worst case scenario for Georgia. The Bulldogs already had to travel to Ole Miss next season which is a difficult place to play, but now they will have to face Chambliss again.

No Georgia fan needs to be told how scary it is to have to face Chambliss again. The Bulldogs faced him and Ole Miss twice last season, with the Rebels getting the upper hand in the College Football Playoff thanks to his heroics. But even though Georgia did win the first meeting Chambliss still dominated the Bulldogs’ defense for most of the game.

Georgia will still be able to win this game, but it’s going to be extremely difficult. The good news is that Pete Golding will be in his first full season coaching Ole Miss, so while he did find success in the playoff there is no guarantee that transfers into next season.

Out of all the games on Georgia’s schedule next year this is the one that everyone should look forward to the most. After losing to the Rebels in the CFP Georgia was desperate for revenge, but now that opportunity will come against the QB who broke their hearts.

So while it would be easier to beat Ole Miss without Chambliss, it will be much more satisfying to win that game while he’s playing.
