Georgia football's massive game against Alabama is right around the corner. It's impossible for a game to get much bigger than this will be as Georgia and Alabama are two of the best programs in the entire country over the last decade.
This however is the first time in quite some time that Georgia has been able to play the Crimson Tide in Athens, and it goes without saying how big of an advantage that will be. Sanford Stadium will be as loud as ever before, and the events staff will be pulling out all the stops to keep the fans engaged all night long.
Senior Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Revenue Strategy Alan Thomas shared on Wednesday one way that they will help keep the fans involved during the game by "lighting up Sanford."
"Fireworks are ready, and we’re going to work on something else this week that will tie back into the lights when the lights go out and some music things tied to it, so it should be fun," Thomas shared via si.com. "So get there, be very accepting of what you’re going to be handed when you walk in that door because you will be part of the show."
Georgia fans will be involved in new light show during Alabama game
No official word has been released on what exactly this means, but it sounds like there will be a light show that involves the Georgia fans in the stands to some capacity. Fans more than likely will receive bracelets when they enter Sanford Stadium that will be programmed to put on a unique light show as music is pumped through the stadium.
This not only will be a spectacle no one will want to miss, but it will keep fans energized during the game so they can do their best to lift UGA to victory.
Georgia and Alabama are scheduled to do battle at 7:30 pm EST this Saturday in Sanford Stadium.
