Georgia basketball is off to one of the hottest starts in program history after defeating Auburn in their SEC opener 104-100 over the weekend. This victory gave Georgia to a 13-1 (1-0) record and propelled them to No. 18 in this week's AP Poll.
Georgia's next opponent is their other SEC rival as they will travel to Florida for a Tuesday night tilt. The Gators are the defending National Champions who entered this season with a lot of expectations once again, they however have not lived up to those espectations. Vegas oddsmakers however aren't too bothered by their slow start as FanDuel Sportsbook still lists Florida as a 9.5 point favorite for this contest.
Vegas oddsmakers release curious Georgia vs Florida spread
As mentioned, Georgia is 13-1 and one of the hottest teams in the country after taking down Auburn. The Bulldogs did play an easier non-conference schedule, but they dominated the teams they played en route to their impressive start. Florida on the other hand isn't even ranked because of their abysmal 9-5 record.
Florida is even off to a slow start in SEC play as they dropped their conference opener to Missouri of all teams 76-74.
Vegas however is very confident Florida will win this game. Sure the Gators are the home team which absolutely means something in college basketball, but Georgia has proven they are more than capable of winning this game. In fact, they even took down Florida at the end of last season right before they went on to win a national title.
Tipoff between Florida and Georgia is scheduled for 7:00 pm EST Tuesday night. A win in this matchup would set the Bulldogs up to potentially start 3-0 in SEC play with an easy game coming up this weekend, but Georgia clearly has a lot to prove tonight as Vegas is in love with Florida for some reason.
