Georgia basketball’s first SEC game of the season is finally here. Up to this point the Bulldogs have had an amazing season as they are 12-1 and currently projected to make the NCAA Tournament field for the first time in a decade. However, it is going to be very difficult for them to make the tournament because the SEC is by far the best conference in the country this season.
Georgia has nine games throughout the month of January, and eight of those games are against teams currently ranked in the AP Poll. It really doesn’t get more difficult than that. Mike White and Georgia’s first test of the month is against Ole Miss, who is the No. 24 team in the country.

Georgia has been surprisingly dominant in the all time series against Ole Miss as they currently hold a 78-47 lead in the series. This includes a 69-66 victory at home against the Rebels the last time they played in March of 2024.
Final Odds
As of 7:30 am EST on Jan. 4, Georgia is a 4.5 point underdog to Ole Miss according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over-under for the game is set at 145.5 points. ESPN's Matchup Predictor favors the Rebels as well and gives them a 66.9 percent chance at beating Georgia.
