It was a Georgia beat down in Atlanta on Halloween night. The Bulldogs met with their biggest rival Florida with a lot on the line for both teams, but it was Georgia who emerged victorious.

Not only did Georgia come away with a 27-8 victory, but they beat Florida so bad that Gators head coach Jon Sumrall had to apologize to his fans after the game.

"I apologize to our fans," Sumrall said. "Wasn't what the Florida Gators standard is, and I do not shy away from the fact that we have to be a lot better across the board. It starts with me as the head football coach here. I have to have our guys more ready to play and more prepared. Grateful for our fan turnout. Grateful for our fanbase. They should be pissed off. I hope they are. I am, too, and we're going to get this right. I promise you we're going to get this right. I commit to giving everything I have for us to freaking get this right. I'm freaking not okay with today. I'm not going to whine and complain. We gotta get better."

Florida began a new chapter but wrote the same story

Florida has not been good for basically the entirety of Kirby Smart's 11-year tenure at Georgia. During that time Georgia has now won nine of their 11 meetings, and many of them like Saturday weren't that close.

Florida however had a lot of hope heading into this game. Most teams have higher expectations than normal when they hire a new head coach, and that is where Florida found themselves heading into this game. To Florida's credit they did have solid wins against Ole Miss and Texas on their resume this season, so that's probably why they thought they stood a chance against UGA. That however was not the case.

Georgia dominated Florida from the opening kickoff. The crazy thing is that Georgia didn't even play that great, Florida just kept making mistake after mistake and essentially handed Georgia this win. Georgia still had to go out and earn the win, but Florida did themselves no favors especially in the first half.

Sumrall clearly felt embarrassed by his team's performance. He was even upset at himself and the coaching staff for how they did on Saturday. Everything went so poorly for Florida that he had to apologize to his fans, and that makes Georgia's win that much better.

This result just shows how much better of a program Georgia is. Florida can hired any coach they want, but regardless of what they do they're still going to lose to Georgia.
