April 13 turned into quite the interesting day for Georgia. While most sports fans were busy watching The Masters (congrats Rory), Georgia fans were watching their baseball team cap off a huge series win in thrilling fashion while also seeing their basketball team greatly improve.
Wile that is all pretty standard stuff, the day ended in a way nobody saw coming as Georgia fans were rallying behind one another as they made sure to put an Ohio State fan in their place on social media.
New Basketball Commit
Georgia basketball and Mike White have nearly lost their entire roster already from this past season, but they are making quick work in the transfer portal to replace that talent. UGA has already added some key players, but they just made another monster pickup on Sunday when BYU transfer Kanon Catchings announced his commitment to Georgia.

Catchings is a former top 40 recruit who spent one season with BYU. During that season, he averaged 7.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He also shot an efficient 41 percent from the field as well as 35 percent from beyond the arc.
So what appeared to be a rocky start to the offseason for the Bulldogs after their run to the NCAA Tournament has now turned into a solid few weeks. It remains to be seen how all of these pieces will fit together, but the potential is already there for Georgia to get back to the Big Dance again next season.
Baseball Downs No. 1
Georgia baseball welcomed No. 1 Arkansas to Athens this weekend for a pivotal three game series. The Razorbacks took game one on Friday with a dominant 13-3 victory, but Georgia wasn’t going to go down without a fight.
UGA bounced back and won game two on Saturday 7-6 before clinching the series win on Sunday with another 7-6 victory behind a walkoff home run from Henry Hunter in the 12th inning.

This win not only keeps Georgia’s slim chances in the race for the SEC alive, but it shows the college baseball world that they belong after being swept by Texas last week. Up next for the Bulldogs is a Tuesday night showdown with rival Georgia Tech before they travel to Vanderbilt over the weekend for their next SEC series.
Ohio State fan self owned
The offseason is the perfect opportunity for fans to talk smack with one another on social media. Since Georgia football won the SEC title in 2024, UGA fans can say whatever they want to the rest of the SEC as they are the top dogs in the conference. That same sentiment exists with Ohio State fans after the Buckeyes won the National Championship this year, but one OSU fan went a little too far with their smack talk.

Georgia fans were quick to point out to this Barstool Sports employee and Ohio State fan that Georgia is 2-0 against Ohio State all time. The Bulldogs also beat OSU in Atlanta a few years ago as well, which just so happens to be the city this fan was in when they made this post.
So while Ohio State reigns supreme in the college football world right now, they should maybe think twice before taking a shot at Georgia.
