Georgia football had a few big stories dominate the news cycle on Wednesday. This includes a huge update in the recruitment for the No. 1 running back in the country and a word of warning issued by Auburn's head coach.

But the most important news from Wednesday was the fact that two injured Bulldogs are trending in the right direction and might be available to play against Auburn this weekend.

Kirby Smart shared positive injury update on Georgia’s offensive line

The status for two Georgia offensive linemen has been up in the air to start this week. Those players are Earnest Greene, who's missed the last two games, and Monroe Freeling, who got hurt during the first drive against Kentucky last weekend.

Kirby Smart gave a positive update on Wednesday on both players as he stated both are practicing and trending in the right direction. This posiitve development was confirmed late Wednesday night when both Greene and Freeling were listed as questionable to play Saturday on the official SEC injury report.

At this point it's impossible to say if either will play at Auburn or not, but things are looking much better for both players than it did 48 hours ago.

5-star RB Kemon Spell gets an offer from Georgia

Kemon Spell is a five-star running back in the 2027 recruiting class. He also is the No. 1 running back in the country and the top ranked player from his home state of Pennsylvania as well.

Spell has been committed to Penn State since August of 2024, but Georgia gave him something new to think about on Wednesday as they officially offered him a scholarship. It's hard to imagine Spell ditching Penn State since he is from their backyard, but the Nittany Lions aren't the team anyone thought they were at the start of this season.

Penn State has lost their last two games which includes the biggest upset of the season when winless UCLA took them down last week. This loss has caused Penn State fans to call for head coach James Franklin to be fired, and if that happens Spell may reconsider where he wants to go to college. And Georgia will be waiting for him if that's what he decides to do.

Hugh Freeze warns Georgia

Georgia is just two days away from their showdown with Auburn on Saturday. The Tigers are confident they can finally beat Georgia this season, and that includes head coach Hugh Freeze who issued a word of warning to UGA.

"I know that this team is closer than we’ve ever been in the two-and-a-half years that I've been here or so," Freeze shared via ugawire.usatoday.com. "I’m ready to get us over the hump. I don’t worry about the pressure or any of that."

Georgia is favored by 3.5 points entering this matchup, so even Vegas thinks Auburn stands a good chance at winning. But if this game goes anything like it usually does, Georgia should expect to win by a comfortable margin.
