Corey Howard seems to have a wandering eye toward Tuscaloosa.
The 3-star edge prospect from Valdosta was at Alabama this past Saturday to watch the Crimson Tide beat up on Louisiana-Monroe, and Howard announced he'll take an official visit to Alabama next month for the Tennessee game.
UGA DL commit Corey Howard has lined up an Alabama official visit for the Tennessee game weekend (Oct. 17-19), he tells me.

I think it's safe to say Howard is officially on "flip watch". Howard was offered by the Bulldogs in May and took his official visit to Athens in mid-June. He committed a week later after returning to campus for a private workout in front of the coaching staff.
Howard's ranking doesn't tell the whole story
Three-star ranking aside, Howard is a very intriguing prospect because of his physical traits. He's already close to 6-foot-6 and he's 265 pounds. So, he's a big player with length. There's a good chance that he puts on a lot more mass and moves to the interior full-time, or he shows the scheme versatility to move inside and out based on the situation.
When Howard's coach at Valdosta, Shelton Felton, spoke to 247Sports, he emphasized Howard's ability to play anywhere along the line.
"I think he can fit anywhere. He put on 26 pounds this offseason. So, everywhere he went, he been 6'5", 265. We try to play him at a 3-technique, play him at a 4i, then in certain packages, play him at Jack. So, we make sure he's versatile," Felton explained. "And he understands how to play all positions, because I think he can grow into a 3-technique. I also think he can be a hell of a 4."
Bulldogs DL class still looks good
Even with the flip of James Johnson to Texas and now the risk of losing Howard, Georgia still has the top-ranked recruiting class in the country with several top defensive line prospects in the fold.
Four-star pledge Valdin Sone is a big nose guard at 6-3 and 315 pounds. Another four-star prospect, Pierre Dean, is another big prospect (6-4, 255) who might have his hand in the ground. Four-star edge Kharmari Brooks is built more like a traditional jack linebacker, tall (6-foot-4) and twitchy with long arms.
The Bulldogs also have three-star linemen Carter Luckie, Preston Carey and junior college recruit Seven Cloud already in the class.
