It's never too early to look ahead to the 2027 recruiting class. Georgia football already has two commitments in their 2027 class, but the Bulldogs are looking to add to that total as soon as they can.
One in-state recruit Georgia fans should get to know is four-star linebacker Cole Crawford. Crawford has a lot of solid programs pursuing him, but according to Rivals' Radi Nabulsi it is Georgia who is currently out in front in his recruitment.

Georgia continues to lead for 4-star LB
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Crawford is the No. 268 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 19 linebacker in the 2027 class and the No. 32 player from the state of Georgia.
Georgia has been the leader for quite some time in Crawford's recruitment. Just last month Crawford himself even came out and said that Georgia "is my leader." So if that doesn't give UGA fans confidence in his recruitment then nothing will.
However, the fact that Crawford is in the 2027 class means his recruitment is far from over. There is still plenty of time for programs to continue to recruit him and surpass Georgia. Two of those teams who have been continuing to aggressively pursue him is Auburn and Georgia Tech, but the above report indicates that Georgia still has a comfortable lead in Crawford's recruitment over the field.
There is not a known timeline for a commitment from Crawford, and that commitment could realistically not come for a year still. But as things stand today, the Bulldogs have a clear lead for one of the best linebackers in the country.
And based on how great of a job Georgia has done at developing linebackers during Kirby Smart's tenure at UGA, it would be quite surprising to see Crawford ditch Georgia and commit elsewhere.
