The 2025 college football season has been dominated by head coach firings and rumors have head coaches leaving their programs at the end of the season. Georgia thankfully isn’t in danger of losing any of their coaches, but they most certainly can benefit from certain coaches departing their programs this offseason.
The biggest way that Georgia can benefit from head coach departures is on the recruiting trail. If the right coach leaves their program Kirby Smart and his staff will be able to circle back with some recruits they just missed on and see if they have any interest in flipping to Georgia.
Texas is a school that has found a lot of success against Georgia this cycle as they narrowly defeated UGA for a few recruits. But new reports are indicating that head coach Steve Sarkisian could leave Texas this offseason for the NFL, and if that is true then Georgia could have a great shot to flip a few Longhorn commits.

Georgia could flip 3 Texas commits with latest Steve Sarkisian rumors
There are three elite recruits that committed to Texas this offseason that Georgia nearly added to their recruiting class. And if Sarkisian leaves Texas, there is a great chance all three players could flip to UGA.
Those three recruits are five-star Peach State linebacker Tyler Atkinson, running back Derrek Cooper and defensive lineman James Johnson. All three players are ranked inside the top 100 and were trending to Georgia at one point in their recruitments, but they all ultiamtely spurned UGA for Texas.
All three players will likely remain with Texas if Sarkisian sticks with the Longhorns, but if he leaves then Georgia will have a great chance with all three. So UGA fans should hope and pray that Sarkisian leaves for the NFL because there is a real shot Georgia's recruiting class will greatly benefit from him leaving.
