Georgia just won at Alabama for the first time since 2007. Their 20-17 victory puts them in position to make a run at their third straight SEC Championship while setting them up to make the College Football Playoff as well, but they don't have much time to celebrate.
Up next for Georgia is their first rivalry game of the season against Auburn. This game will thankfully be at home, but UGA will once again have to be ready for a battle if they want to remain undefeated. Georgia unfortunately didn't get the game time they wanted against Auburn, but it could've been much worse.
When do Georgia and Auburn play?
Kickoff between Georgia and Auburn is scheduled for 3:30 pm EST on Saturday, Oct. 17. This game will take place in Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA on Georgia's campus.
This will be Georgia's fifth home game of the season, and unfortunately for them they have still not had a home night game. Before the upcoming update to the AP Poll there are four matchups in the SEC that feature two ranked teams, so it would make sense if any one of those games got a night slot over Georgia this week. The SEC however didn't schedule any of those games in their two night slots.
Instead Vanderbilt will host Arkansas in one of the night games along with Oklahoma hosting Kentucky. Georgia vs Auburn would be a much better game to put at night than both of those matchups, but that unfortunately did not happen.
How to watch Georgia football play Auburn
Georgia vs Auburn will air on ESPN. There was a chance this game was going to be put on the SEC Network, but they thankfully avoided that so they can play in front of a national TV audience once again.
This game will also be available to be streamed on the ESPN app and Fubo TV as well.
What does Vegas think of Georgia's matchup against Auburn?
Georgia unsurprisingly is favored over Auburn by a wide margin. They are an 18.5 point favorite according to the DraftKings Sportsbook with the over-under set at 49.5 points.
The Bulldogs are 5-1 against the spread this season after beating Alabama as an underdog. Georgia covered against their first four opponents this season rather easily, but Vanderbilt did just barely cover the spread against Georgia two weeks ago to prevent UGA from being undefeated against Vegas.
Auburn on the other hand is only 1-4 against the spread this season.
Georgia will be riding higher than they've been all season entering this game. They are 6-0 and will likely be the No. 1 team in the country thanks to Texas' loss to Oklahoma this weekend. This new ranking however comes with added pressure to keep performing at a high level, and their opponents might be even more motivated to knock them off their pedestal now.
Georgia is one week away from their bye week which they desperately need after all the injuries they've been racking up. They however can't afford to overlook Auburn who has pushed them in recent years even though they haven't been that good.
