The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off their best season in 10 years, making it to the NCAA Tournament, even though they posted an 8-10 SEC record. Georgia benefited from the SEC so dominant last season that even with a below .500 record, they were able to have enough strong wins to get them a spot in the tournament.
Now with the 2025-2026 men's basketball season roughly three months away, the Bulldogs have the last bits of their schedule receiving their SEC gauntlet. The Bulldogs come into this season without their leading scorer from last season, Asa Newell, who is now in the NBA. Georgia also lost Justin Bailey, who transferred to UConn, but head coach Mike White certainly built a strong transfer class.
Here is how the Bulldogs' SEC schedule will play out:
- 1/3 Auburn (Home)
- 1/6 or 1/7 Florida (Away)
- 1/10 South Carolina (Away)
- 1/13 or 1/14 Ole Miss (Home)
- 1/17 Arkansas (Home)
- 1/20 or 1/21 Missouri (Away)
- 1/24 Texas (Away)
- 1/27 or 1/28 Tennessee (Home)
- 1/31 Texas A&M (Home)
- 2/7 LSU (Away)
- 2/10 or 2/11 Florida (Away)
- 2/14 Oklahoma (Away)
- 2/17 or 2/18 Kentucky (Away)
- 2/21 Texas (Home)
- 2/24 or 2/25 Vanderbilt (Away)
- 2/28 South Carolina (Home)
- 3/3 or 3/4 Alabama (Home)
- 3/7 Mississippi State (Away)
They say ‘it just means more.’

This SEC schedule could be looked at in two different ways: in a bad way or as a ticket straight into the NCAA Tournament. If the SEC is even half as good as it was last season, the Bulldogs could get in even with a .500 record. There are certainly a few games where, if Georgia can pull off a win, that just makes their resume that much stronger.
Two games against Florida, Texas, and South Carolina could be good, but the games that stand out are Alabama, Tennessee, and Auburn. Those three games, if Georgia can win at least one, that could be a ticket to the tournament. Georgia simply just needs to put their heads down, get the job done.
