Georgia football has reached halftime of their second game of the season against Austin Peay. Most fans assumed this game would already be a blowout by now, but that is not the case.

Georgia only has a 14-3 halftime lead against the Governors, which is far from what anyone expected at this point. And after watching Georgia struggle with FCS Austin Peay, Georgia fans are beginning to smash the panic button.

Georgia fans react to UGA's poor first half performance vs Austin Peay

Georgia's defense, special teams are lone bright spot so far vs Austin Peay

It is important to point out who has played extremely well so far against Asutin Peay, and in all honesty Georgia's entire defense has played lights out. That is the expectation against a team like Austin Peay, but it's good to see the defense is actually handling their buesiness like they should be.

The Bulldogs defense only gave up three points to Austin Peay in the first half. They also only gave up 80 total yards and just five first downs. Georgia was even able to force their first turnover of the season thanks to a diving interception from defensive back Ellis Robinson. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but the first half overall was very solid from Georgia's defense.

The same can be said for Georgia's special teams as well, especially from punter Brett Thorson. This is Thorson's first game of the season, and so far he is proving why he deserves to be in the "best punter in the country" conversation.

Georgia's offense though is why UGA fans are really starting to panic. The Bulldogs scored just 14 points in the first half against Austin Peay, which included a missed opportunity at the end of the half where they had the ball on the Peay 1-yard line and came away with zero points. Instead of kicking a field goal, Georgia went for it on 4th and one with five seconds remaining and came up short on what was the final play of the half.

On top of that, Gunner Stockton has really struggled finding his open receivers, Georgia's offensive line is getting injured and missing key blocks, and starting running back Nate Frazier fumbled the ball on the first drive of the game.

Georgia's offense has 30 more minutes to fix their problems, but it is very apparent this team is not ready to compete for championships right now.
