Talent wins in college football. Sure there are a lot of players every season that prove they were much better than their rankings out of high school, but typically the teams with the most talent are the ones competing for National Championships every season.
No one will be surprised to learn that Georgia football has one of the most talented rosters in the country. That has been the case ever since Kirby Smart took over as head coach, and that likely will not change as long as he is roaming the sidelines in Athens.
But for the first time in the last five years, Georgia has the most talented roster in the country.
247Sports names Georgia the most talented team in the country
Every season 247Sports releases their Team Talent Composite rankings. This ranking looks at the high school recruiting ranking for every player in the country and spits out a total score for every team in the country. And entering the 2025 season, Georgia has the No. 1 team in the country according to this data.
UGA sits at No. 1 with 1,002 points. Not far behind is Alabama with 994 points and Ohio State with 973 points. Rounding out the top five is Texas at No. 4 and Oregon at No. 5.
As mentioned, this is the first time Georgia has held this title in the last five years. So even during the two years Gergia won a National Championship, they did not have the most talented roster on paper. That fact should only increase the excitement surrounding UGA this season because Smart should be able to work wonders with the most talented roster in the country.
While it is nice for Georgia to sit at No. 1 in these rankings, that won't win them any games. The Bulldogs still have to go out and earn their victories on the field, but according to 247Sports they should have no problem doing that.
