Georgia football needs to improve their offensive line. The Bulldogs offensive line really struggled at times this past season, and unfortunately there hasn’t been any big additions to the offensive line yet this offseason.

It’s unclear if Kirby Smart will target players on the offensive line in the transfer portal this offseason or not, but regardless Georgia needs to add many elite players from the 2026 high school recruiting class to build for the future. And one of Georgia’s offensive line targets just gave the Bulldogs some great news earlier this week.

4-star IOL Canon Pickett

Canon Pickett is a four-star offensive lineman from Tampa, FL. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Pickett is the No. 340 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 25 offensive lineman in the 2026 class and the No. 48 overall player from his home state of Florida.

According to Hayes Fawcett with On3, Pickett announced his top 10 schools and Georgia made the cut. LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Miami (FL), Florida, Clemson, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt also made Pickett's top 10 along with the Bulldogs.

There is however one team who clearly leads the way for Pickett, and that is Miami. The Hurricanes have the only official crystal ball prediction in their favor and they also are the only team with an official visit scheduled with Pickett as well according to his 247Sports profile.

The good news for Georgia is that Pickett doesn’t have a commitment date in mind yet, so there is plenty of time for Smart and his staff to catch back up in this recruitment. And in order to do that, they have to get Pickett to come Athens on an official visit later this summer, so hopefully that is something that will get scheduled very soon.
