With Georgia football on a bye week it is no surprise to see Kirby Smart and his staff hitting the recruiting trail very hard. With all of that extra attention on recruiting this week, it would not be a surprise to see the Bulldogs earn a commitment or two this week.

And that is exactly what happened Saturday morning.

Three-star linebacker Anthony Kruah

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, three-star linebacker Anthony Kruah has committed to Georgia. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Kruah is the No. 531 overall player in the country. Also according to 247Sports, he is the No. 37 linebacker in the country and the No. 52 player from Georgia.

Smart and his staff were able to steal Kruah from North Carolina, who he had been committed to since the end of April.

Georgia was able to make quick work in this recruitment because they didn't even offer Kruah until the middle of May, almost a month after he committed to North Carolina. Kruah immediately took an official visit to Georgia, and Smith stayed hard after the talented linebacker until this weekend when he officially flipped his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Kruah is a "do it all" linebacker for his highschool and racked up 70 tackles during his junior season. This includes 10.5 tackles for loss as well as one sack. Kruah also recorded one interception that he returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. And to top it all off, Kruah had two blocked kicks on special teams as well.

Kruah is the 24th commit in Georgia's 2025 recruiting class, which stays put at No. 3 in the country after this commitment.

Kruah may not be the highest ranked commit in Georgia's class, but Smart doesn't just go after any player. Smart thinks Kruah can be a major contributor at Georgia, and that will always matter more than any ranking a recruiting site gives him.
