Georgia football once again signed one of the top recruiting classes in the country during the 2025 recruiting cycle. Kirby Smart's class ranks No. 2 in the country according to 247Sports, falling slightly behind SEC rival Texas.

But there is absolutely no shame in signing the No. 2 class in the country, especially when Smart and his staff signed the No. 1 class the previous year.

There are a lot of players to be extremely excited about in Georgia's incoming freshman class, but a lot of that hype is going towards the five-star players in Georgia's class. The Bulldogs once again have a fair amount of five-stars entering the program this offseason, but there is one player who just earned their fifth star in the final rankings released by Rivals on Tuesday.

5-star tight end Elyiss Williams

Georgia football will always have multiple five-star players in every recruiting class, but that doesn't mean each one shouldn't be celebrated. It is especially exciting when that player earns their coveted fifth star in the final released rankings of the recruiting cycle. And that is exactly what happened with tight end Elyiss Williams.

According to Rivals, Williams earned his fifth star on Monday as they ranked him as their No. 23 overall player in the country. Rivals also has Williams as the No. 5 player from Georgia and the top ranked tight end in the 2025 class.

Williams has been committed to Georgia for a very long time, dating back to April 8, 2023 when he announced his commitment. He did take some visits to other schools since committing to Georgia, but his commitment was never in doubt. Williams made his commitment official by signing with Georgia on Dec. 4, 2024 before officially enrolling with Georgia on Jan. 6, 2025.

Williams is coming off an impressive senior season in high school that saw him record 54 catches for 789 yards and 11 touchdowns. A big reason why Williams was able to accomplish this is because he already stands at 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds. So it goes without saying how that is nearly impossible to defend at the high school level, but most colleges will struggle to defend that size as well.

Williams will be one of the players in this class who will have a chance to make an impact on the field during his true freshman season. Georgia does have a deep tight end room, but they do not have a proven elite player yet. So Williams will have every chance to come in and prove why he deserves playing time later this fall, and it would not be surprising to see him do just that.
