The college football world is focused on the 2026 recruiting class, especially after the recent recruiting dead period throughout February has come to an end. But that doesn't mean Kirby Smart and his staff can ignore future recruiting classes. That is especially true at a position as important as quarterback.
Georgia football already has their eyes set on one QB in the 2027 class, and that is four-star Kharim Hughley. According to Rivals, Hughley is the No. 178 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 18 QB in the 2027 class and the No. 18 player from his home state of Florida.
As one would assume, Hughley has a long time to go before he announces a commitment, but that hasn't stopped many of the top schools in the country from recruiting him and bringing him on their campus for a visit. In fact, Hughley has visits to nine different schools scheduled for this spring. However, Georgia has the edge over every other school Hughley is visiting.

Georgia has leg up over every other team
According to Rivals' Sam Spiegelman, Hughley will visit nine schools this spring including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida State. However, as you may notice in the above post, Georgia is the only school hosting Hughley on two separate occassions this spring as he will be in Athens on March 13 and April 12.
It's hard to tell if this means Georgia is the current leader in Hughley's recruitment or not, but it probably doesn't matter all that much since he is still just a sophomore in high school. But UGA has to love where they stand right now in this recruitment.
It's also unclear if Hughley is Georgia's top quarterback target in the 2027 class or not, but one thing that is clear is that Georgia is a big fan of Hughley.
