Georgia football is off to a slow start in the 2026 recruiting class. Kirby Smart and his staff are doing a good job at recruiting their top targets so far, but unfortunately that has not turned into many commitments.

As it stands today, the Bulldogs have just four commits in their 2026 recruiting class. While that may sound a little concerning, this is still good enough to have the No. 16 class in the country according to 247Sports, so that shows that many other programs are off to slow starts as well.

But there is one commit that Georgia fans need to pay close attention to because he is reportedly looking at a few other schools and might be taking a few visits as well. And that is four-star corner Jontavius Wyman.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Wyman is the No. 120 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 11 corner in his class and the No. 15 player from his home state of Georgia. Based on these rankings alone, it's clear that this is someone Georgia will not want to lose from their recruiting class.

And while there is no indication that he will be decommitting from the program, Rivals Recruiting Director Adam Gorney shared two other teams Wyman is showing a little interest in.

“The four-star safety from Jonesboro, Ga., committed to Georgia in July and it looked like his recruitment was basically over but the word now is that Wyman is looking at two other visits at least,” Gorney said via uga.rivals.com. “Wyman will definitely be back in Athens and in the end it could be tough to beat the Bulldogs but Nebraska and Miami will get the four-star on campus soon.“

It is nice that Gorney said it will be tough for any team to beat Georgia, but the fact that he is going to visit a few other schools is a little scary. This however is normal for recruiting, so there likely isn't too much to worry about quite yet. Smart and his staff have held off many programs from stealing their commits in the past, so they hopefully will be able to do it again.
